February 6, 2018

Alma Records is thrilled to announce that one of the label's signature artists, Hilario Duran, has been nominated for a Juno Award in the Jazz Album of the Year: Solo category.

The nomination is for Duran's newest masterpiece Contumbao, produced by Peter Cardinali . This is Duran's fourth Juno nomination, he previously won for Contemporary Jazz Album of the year in both 2005 (New Danzon) and 2006 (From The Heart).

"Hilario Duran continues to distinguish himself as one of the foremost pianists in the world," says Cardinali. "We are delighted to be in the company of the other supremely talented Canadian jazz musicians who have been nominated for Canada's highest musical honour."
